Here I am posting the outline you have to follow for the presentations. This time, together, we will be grading the presentations. Remember to check what will be assessed by reading the presentation rubric that it is available on the blog in the General Information Section. I will give that rubric to you on the days of the presentations for you to grade your classmates. Here I am posting hte specificitation of the presentations:
- A 20min (with 10 seconds grace) Power Point presentation.
- Special creation teams: You will have 15min for your presentations because your presentation is the shortest of them all.
- It should include ALL the information stated in the outline.
- The ppt should ONLY be a guide for your team to follow. Big chunks of copied and pasted information will be penalised (More images than words).
- The ppt should also be a tool for your audience to UNDERSTAND the topic. Therefore it should be didactic and easy to follow.
- You can include videos in your presentation. There are many amazing videos about your topics.
- If you are going to use a video in your presentation, remember to rehearse the whole presentation and adjust your time to fulfil the required time.
- All team members should expose a part of the presentation. (Changing slides of the ppt is not a role)
- Support your information (explanations like: I liked it, I agreed, I thought the same, It is nice, It is pretty; are NOT accepted as information!).
- The presentation is worth 15 points in total out of the 30 points allocated to the lab.
- The exposition is worth 10 points.
- The other 5 points are explained below.
- You have to produce a set of notes (handout) for your classmates to study from. This is worth 2.5 points.
- It should include ALL the information you are presenting. I will use the information of your handouts to make your exam, so help each other!!!!
- You have to organise an activity that helps to understand or revise your topic. This is worth 2.5 points as well.
- Asking questions randomly IS NOT considered an activity, that could be the closure of your topic.
- You can organise a game like a "mini-maratón" (it is just a suggestion). Be creative!
I am sure that you will produce amazing presentations, handouts and activities. You made me proud last year with your presentations. Find the amazing knowledge that Biology can give to you and transmit it to your classmates. Enjoy to be part of somebody else's development. I have faith in you.
